The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) is an international
research organisation with its Headquarters Laboratory in Heidelberg
(Germany), Outstations situated in Grenoble (France), Hamburg (Germany)
and Hinxton (UK), and a Research Programme at Monterotondo (Italy).

THE EMBL GRENOBLE OUTSTATION ANNOUNCES

SUPPORT OF ACCESS TO THE ESRF FOR STRUCTURAL BIOLOGISTS

by the

EUROPEAN COMMUNITY - ACCESS TO RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURES ACTION OF THE
IMPROVING HUMAN POTENTIAL PROGRAMME
(contract number: HPRI-CT-1999-00022)

The EMBL Grenoble Outstation collaborates with the European Synchrotron
Radiation Facility in providing access for European structural
biologists to synchrotron beamlines ID14 (four protein crystallography
endstations), ID13 (microfocus), BM14 (MAD) and ID29 (MAD). In addition
the Outstation offers up-to-date computing and graphics facilities, and
extensive molecular biology and biochemistry laboratories, specialised
in the requirements of structural biology.

Visitors using these facilities are eligible for support of their
travelling and accommodation under the EU contract if they are:
-  nationals of a EU member state or associated state;
- the home research laboratory is located in a EU member state or
associated state;
- the visit is for not more than three months.

Scientists requiring ESRF beamtime are requested to fill in a standard
ESRF application form (http://www.esrf.fr). Applications from new user
groups are particularly encouraged. Those requiring additional EMBL
support (in particular for test beamtime, microfocus beamtime, extended
stays up to three months for scientific collaborations, training etc)
should apply directly to:
