I use the program novel_R from Diederichs and Karplus (ref: K. Diederichs
& A. Karplus (1997) Nature Structural Biology 4, 269-275).  I obtained it from
Kay Diederichs (Kay.Diederichs@uni-konstanz.de).  You need to run scalepack
with the "no merge original index" command and novel_R will read the output
of that and produce a nice table of useful values.
