Hello everyone,

A set of binary RPMs of CCP4 version 4.1.1 for the i386 (PC) architechture
are available from

	http://imsb.au.dk/~mok/linux/dist

The compilation was carried out on a Mandrake 7.2 system using gcc-2.95.2
(should be OK according to Kevin Cowtans posting on this list Feb 22).
The RPM files are called:

ccp4-lib-4.1-2.i386.rpm (*)	Library (data) files
ccp4-progs-4.1-2.i386.rpm (*)	Compiled binaries, man pages
ccp4-html-4.1-2.i386.rpm	Docs in HTML format
ccp4-doc-4.1-2.i386.rpm Docs in text format
ccp4-etc-4.1-2.i386.rpm Misc scripts
ccp4-examples-4.1-2.i386.rpm	Examples scripts and data
ccp4-manual-4.1-2.i386.rpm	CCP4 users guide
ccp4-4.1-2.src.rpm (#) Source RPM

Be sure to get RPMs with the SAME version and release numbers! RPMs
version 4.1-2 includes the 4.1 -> 4.1.1 patch (version 4.1-1 does NOT).

Only the first two packages (*) are required. The source package (#) is
not needed but is available for those who know what to do with it. After
download, installation of the whole suite is as simple as

   rpm --install ccp4-*

The progs package includes the supported, unsupported and X programs.

By default, the files will be placed in /usr/local/ccp4, but you can
redirect this by using the --prefix option of rpm, so that

   rpm --install --prefix /usr ccp4-*

will put everything in /usr/ccp4.

PLEASE NOTICE THAT:
  - CCP4 do _not_ offer any support for binary distributions
  - Academic users MUST return a license form to CCP4 (if you haven't
    done so already) (ftp://ccp4a.dl.ac.uk/pub/ccp4/licence.txt)
  - Commercial users MUST contact the CCP4 first.

Enjoy!

/Morten
