Dear all :

I am dealing with the refinement of a protein structure reduced with
excess of dithionite. I reduced directly the crystals until a colour
change was observed, by soaking them in a dithionite solution.

I am able to see some positive density in the difference maps which
could correspond either to dithionite or its degradation product after
oxidation.

Is/was someone dealing with a similar problem ?. How common is to see
dithionite in electron density maps after protein reduction ?.

Best regards and thanks in advance

Francisco
