Research Scientists - Protein Crystallography
We are seeking highly motivated x-ray crystallographers to join our
integrated
multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for solving protein
structures
and applying the information to drive drug discovery programs.
Additionally,
you will interact with computational and medicinal chemists and
bioinformatics
specialists within interdisciplinary teams. You must have a PhD in
Macromolecular Crystallography, demonstrated expertise in protein
structure
determination methods (MIR, MAD, and molecular replacement methods), and
a
thorough familiarity with crystallographic software. Experience with
structure-assisted ligand design is desirable. Req #11May0104964

Research Scientist - Structural Bioinformatics
Working in an exciting multidisciplinary team environment, the
successful
candidate will be responsible for investigating structure function
relationships
in a variety of protein families in collaboration with x-ray
crystallographers
and computational chemists. You will apply state of the art
computational tools
and mining of biological databases to predict protein function for novel
sequences.  A Ph.D. degree, or the equivalent, in structural biology,
biophysics, molecular pharmacology or bioinformatics is required. One to
two
years postdoctoral training in molecular and structural biology,
bioinformatics,
molecular pharmacology is required. The successful candidate will
possess
excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate strong
quantitative and programming skills.  Experience in homology modeling
and
threading methods to construct protein models or investigating
structure-function relationships is desirable. Req#09Apr0104220
