[ccp4bb]: Water rings

Dear colleagues and crystallography gurus,
What is the best way to deal with water rings? I seem to remember it was
possible to exclude the relevant resolution ranges in Scala, but I can't
find the keyword anymore. Or should I exclude the resolution ranges in
Refmac?
Or, perhaps, should I not exclude andything at all because the modern
procedures (maximum likelyhood etc) will take better care of it than I
could anyway?
Sincerely,
Mark van Raaij
PS To the suggestion "mount a crystal that does not show water rings" I
would like to reply:
a. we tried, honest.
b. if YOU want to try, I can send the expression plasmid with a protocol
of how to purify and crystallise the protein, then you can try
yourself...
