Re: [ccp4bb]: Intel Fortran compiler (for Linux)

If you have a Linux-distribution other than Redhat 7.2 (I think, the
intel compilers are made for this dist.), your libc.so.6 might
simply be listed with a different name in the rpm-database (e.g., not with
the 'GLIBC_2.2'-appendix). In that case look at the install-scripts of
the intel-compiler and replace the rpm-command by 'rpm --nodeps' and/or
'rpm --force', then ifc will be installed and you can check, whether it
works or not.
Mind you, according to trolltech, from where the Qt-libraries stem used
for some applications like KDE, at least the intel c-compiler version 6
is buggy (Qt compiles with version 5 and 6, but with the latter,
Qt-applications tend to crash). This might not affect the ccp4-suite, of
course.
(Version 6 is quite a high number for a programme with bugs- guess,
intel's been working too much for M.Gates)
Hope this helps,
Tim

If I had done everything I'm credited with, I'd be speaking to you from
a laboratory jar at Harvard.
