Greetings,

Our lab is considering the purchase of the Bruker Nonius X8PROTEUM X-ray
system for in-house use. We would appreciate any/all comments concerning
this system, with an emphasis on the following points:

1. Is the Montel 200 Multi-Layer Optic comparable to the Osmic Optics
(i.e. ease of alignment, increased Cu Ka/Kb ratio, symmetric
beam divergence, gain in I/sigI)? Other (dis)advantages?

2. What are you general feelings about the FR591 6kW rotating anode
generator (ease of use, uptime, ease and expense of maintenance)?

3. PROTEUM software. How do the overall
indexing/strategy/integration/scaling options fare against other
ground-proven applications. I believe that the SAINT software performs
the data reduction, how does it compare to DENZO/HKL2000/mosflm?

4. Overall, for in-house use, how does the overall unit perform? Pros,
cons, raves, regrets are all welcomed.

Thank you and best regards,
