Dear all,

I have been following the discussion for the structure factors and my
understanding is that people who do not deposit structure factors fear
that their data may be used by others to refine their structure better
and to pinpoint possible errors in the structure determination and
refinement process (to put it simple). On the other hand people who are
in favour to deposit SFs argue that they will be able to judge better
the quality of the model and to extract valuable information with the
respect to the structure. A compromising suggestion that I would like to
bring forward is to deposit 2Fo-Fc electron density maps together with
the structure. This way everyone will be able to see the how well the
model fits the experimental data while none will be able to manipulate
somebody else's experimental data.
I would like to hear your comments.
