Dear Developers

This is an advanced warning that we are now preparing for the next
release of the CCP4 suite (version 5.0) which should be available in
Spring 2003. The change in major version number reflects the fact that
this release will be focused primarily on new library developments.

The 31st JANUARY 2002 has been set as the deadline for contributions
recieved from developers to be incorporated into the release,
regrettably changes (other than bug fixes) submitted after this deadline
will not be included in 5.0.

Information on the software library developments can also be found via
the developers pages.
