I am still seeing incorrect code produced by the Intel IFC compiler, which 
makes me rather leery of using it for anything serious.  I haven't had
time to pin down what levels of optimization, compiler flags, or target
architecture trigger it, but the bottom line is that code produced 
for an Athlon via the default compilation options is not reliable.
