Hi Neil,

  we have only just started using DVDs for backup. My only advice is
that if you're planning to use a laptop for accessing the data, make
sure you check the specifications of the internal optical drive. Most of
the common CD/DVD combo drives (CD reader/writer + DVD reader) only
support DVD-R and not +R or the rewritable RW discs.
