Hi Neil,

Something else that you will want to consider if you're looking to archive
to DVD from linux is the state of the DVD writing software. I looked at this
a few months ago, and it seems that there wasn't a lot of support out there.

However, things have probably moved on a little.

I understand that for *reading* DVD-R is a safe bet with most systems,
including Linux. I have seen these being read on laptops too....
