Christophe L.M.J. Verlinde, MPharm, Ph.D.
Dr. Christophe L.M.J. Verlinde, MPharm, PhD, a native of Belgium, is an Associate Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Washington, Seattle. His research is focused on the discovery and design of small molecule inhibitors of key proteins of protozoon human parasites, such as Plasmodium falciparum and various trypanosomatids, based on crystal structures and molecular modeling. He has been operating within the framework of the MSGPP (Medical Structural Genomics of Pathogenic Protozoa) consortium, and MMV (Medicines for Malaria Venture). To aid in drug lead discovery and development, he has developed the "BMSC Fragment Cocktails" used for screening protein targets by X-ray crystallography.
