possibly your version of wish or bltwish is too old:

After you have sourced ccp4.setup try the following:

unix> exec $CCP4I_TCLTK/bltwish
% puts $tk_version
8.3
% file join
wrong # args: should be "file join name ?name ...?"

You can see that I have version 8.3 and bltwish knows the "file join"
command. If you have a much older version (I guess < 8.0) you should ask
your sysadmin to update.
