There are (of course !) two sides to this discussion. As a programmer,
I am only too well aware of the amount of time and effort that
programmers put into writing what they hope will be clear and useful
documentation for their programs. Consequently, not being perfect
human beings either, we can sometimes get slightly exasperated when
asked questions which, we feel, are explained perfectly well in the
documentation which we took such great pains to write. This can even
extend to documentation for programs other than our own ! Hence the
phrase RTFM (whatever that might mean).

In an Email, without the accompaniment of Tassos's grinning face, this
could be construed as offensive. It should not be taken that way. We
should all be grateful for the very high level of support offered to
less (and more) experienced scientists through the CCP4 Bulletin
Board, and this seems like an appropriate time of year to thank
especially the regular contributers for taking the time to respond to
queries.

PS I could hardly believe the results of the Google search for Eleanor's
glasses so I did it myself...ain't the web amazing !
