emm yes sounds like the cad problem. there is a replacement for cad.exe in
ftp://ftp.ccp4.ac.uk/pub/awa/ccp4nt/prerelease/

do you mean the Linux map file or the windows map file? This may be one

once you've got the mtzdump results in a window there is a button on the 
bottom - [list more info] click this and you can choose how much more info 
you want to see...

I hope this helps - I should also say that I am currently packaging up 
CCP4 4.2.1 for windows and it should be out before the end of the month.
