[ccp4bb]: Solaris 2.5.1 sparc gcc CCP4 4.2.2 binaries (fwd)

The Accessible Retired Computers in Biology Project (ARCiB) is pleased to
announce the availability of binaries of CCP4 4.2.2 compiled for Sun
Solaris 2.5.1 (SunOS 5.5.1) Sparc systems using gcc/g77 2.95.3 instead of
the standard Sun compilers.  This is a preliminary test release.  Use it
with caution.

BEFORE DOWNLOADING THESE BINARIES, USERS MUST AGREE TO ABIDE BY THE CCP4
LICENSE.  SEE http://www.ccp4.ac.uk/ccp4license.html

The new binaries are available from the ARCiB web site:

  http://arcib.dowling.edu

Before installing these binaries, you will need to install the gcc 2.95.3
release for SPARC/Solaris 2.5 from http://www.sunfreeware.com/

These binaries should be installed in /usr/local/ccp4-4.2.2. To install
these binaries, you will first need to download and install a CCP4 4.2.2
source kit (see ftp://ftp.ccp4.ac.uk/pub/ccp4/4.2.2/packed/) and then
install the pre-compiled binaries into the same directory.  A modified
ccp4.setup-solaris_gcc is provided, which should be sourced both for
installation and for use.  The BINARY.setup script should be run before
the first use.  The warning messages about whoami and fontpack not being
found are not a serious problem, and should be corrected in a future
sunos_gcc binary kit build.
