[ccp4bb]: writing out in CCP4 format

Hello,

I am trying to compress a 3D map and would therefore need to do the 
following:
(1) read in the original map in CCP4 format
(2) manipulate the map data to reduce its size
(3) write out a new file with the same format and an updated header (to 
reflect change in size).

For steps (1) and (3) I need to know the exact specification of the CCP4 
format. Can anyone point me to such a spec?
