I would suggest rinsing a few crystals and running on an SDS-PAGE. UV
shadow for the DNA then silver stain for the protein. I have actually
observed slight negative staining where DNA runs. In my experience this is
the quickest way to get the answer Acta Cryst. (1999). D55, 1594-1597
