FBLD 2009 Workshop

A one day workshop will be held on Sunday 20th September from 10:00 - 16:00. The theme of the day will be to provide an overview of current practise in Fragment-Based Discovery methods. This will provide those new to the discipline with a practical introduction to the methods:

  • Why are fragments important?
  • What are fragments?
  • Experimental approaches to detecting fragment binding
  • Fragment library design
  • Strategies for using fragments to design new ligands
  • Examples of successful use of fragments in ligand discovery

The workshop will be led by Profesor R. E. Hubbard who will be joined by other leading practitioners in fragment based discovery. These include James Murray (Vernalis) and Dan Erlanson (ex-Sunesis).
